    Features

    • Varied gallery layout: photos get slightly different display ratios, so galleries no longer look like a uniform grid
    • Chronological galleries: media are sorted by capture date instead of file name; an undated file follows the closest dated file of the same photographer
    • Video dates: videos get a capture date read from their metadata
    • File date at upload: used when no capture date is found in the file itself
    • Capture date: shown on the photo page, and editable in the admin to fix a camera set to the wrong time
    • Paris time: dates are displayed in Europe/Paris instead of UTC
    • Trackpad swipe: a two-finger horizontal swipe moves to the previous or next photo, instead of leaving the gallery

    Upgrade notes

    • Run python manage.py backfill_capture_dates once after deploying: it dates the existing media and fixes the dates stored in UTC.
